Guess what? You’re not alone. As it turns out, Dwyane Wade is all too familiar with the feeling. In an interview with Trevor Noah on The Daily Show, the former American basketball player opened up about the feeling of uncertainty after he decided to pull the plug on the NBA in 2019.
The Golden Hoop
If you’re a fan of basketball, you may already be aware of the great Dwyane Tyrone Wade Jr., who primarily played for the Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association from 2003 to 2016.
The player paid a short term with the Chicago Bulls from ’16 to ‘2018, and for the year ’17 to ’18, he played for Cleveland Cavaliers, only to return to the Miami Heat for one final year before retirement.
In his basketball career of 16 years, he has managed to bag 3 NBA championships and was part of the NBA All-Star 13 times.
He was mainly positioned as a shooting guard. Despite being one of the most celebrated NBA players, Wade made sure to take time out for philanthropic causes and donate to hospitals and earthquake relief funds.

Given that basketball was a great part of his life, Wade opened up to Trevor Noah after being questioned about life after retirement. He stated that it wasn’t easy and that he had to take a few months off just to contemplate where his life was headed.
The 39-year-old former athlete mentioned how basketball had been a great part of his life, and after his retirement, he had a lot of thinking to do about his next move.

This interview was lined up after the release of Wade’s memoir Dwyane, which is filled with more than 200 photos that depict his life during his basketball career, his time with the Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Chicago Bulls as well. Wade also sat down with the PEOPLE to talk about his family and how it plays a big part in the legacy he wants to leave behind.
In the interview, he mentioned that he often thinks about leaving behind a legacy where his children don’t have to go through the hardships like he did when he was growing up.
