Carole Elizabeth Middleton is famous for being the mother of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Philippa Matthews, and James Middleton, while also being an English businesswoman and the founder of Party Pieces, a mail-order party supply company. It grew quickly, and in 1989, she began trading from a warehouse in Hungerford, Berkshire.
Within three years, it was so successful she took over dilapidated barns and sheds at Child’s Court Farm in Yattendon, Berkshire, where the firm remains, employing 40 people and sending out 4,000 orders a week. Carole Middleton was brought up in Southall, London, and was educated at a local school before she joined British Airways and worked as a stewardess until her marriage to Micheal Middleton, a member of the Middleton family.
Party Pieces honoring the upcoming event
Kate Middleton’s mother, Carole Middleton, is honoring Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee in her own way. The Party Pieces founder recently announced on her Instagram that to honor the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, she will be releasing a new collection of decorations specially designed for the Platinium Jubliee. The collection includes patriotic bunting, flags and paper cups, all marked with a crown and a message reading: “Hip Hip Hooray!”
The 67-year-old company, Party Pieces has 49 different items on sale in a ‘Platinum Jubilee Party Decorations and Supplies’ range, including £9.99 red, white and blue bunting, £4 flags, and £3 balloons. The collection also includes a cake stand, napkins, paper plates, table covers, table decorations, confetti, and balloons.
All the pieces, including the fan favorite amazing Queen cake-topper staring the Queen, a backdrop of Buckingham Palace, three corgis, a crown, and a carriage, all items are eco-friendly and recyclable or reusable, made from FSC certified paper.
There are also ‘Glitter Table Decorations’ in the shape of the number ’70’ for £2.99 and a pack of eight ‘Best of British Plates’ for £4.99. One of the more expensive products is ‘Best of British Bunting’ which is three meters long and costs £9.99.
Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee
There are many events happening over the four-day Bank Holiday in June to commemorate the Queen’s Jubilee, with members of the Royal Family planning to attend some of these events. The planned festivities, which will take place between June 2 and June 5, including Trooping the Colour (the annual public celebration of the Queen’s birthday), the lighting of Platinum Jubilee beacons, a service of Thanksgiving at St. Paul’s Cathedral, the Derby at Epsom Downs, a live concert called “Platinum Party at the Palace,” the Big Jubilee Lunch and the Platinum Jubilee Pageant.
In addition to these, a giant slide will also be installed at the Tower of London as part of an impressive floral display, and a carnival featuring 5,000 performers and a dragon float the size of an iconic red bus will be held in London. There is also a Platinum Party at the Palace on Saturday 4 June, where the BBC will stage a special live concert at Buckingham Palace to ‘bring some of the world’s biggest entertainment stars’ to ‘celebrate the most significant and joyous moments from the Queen’s seven-decade reign.
