A former student of the esteemed LaGuardia High School for performing arts, it’s no shock that Billy Dee Williams went on to find success in the world of entertainment. Initially a theater performer, he cemented his place in film history as Lando Calrissian in “The Empire Strikes Back.”
Williams, who’s also an accomplished painter, then shined as a voice actor working on animated “Star Wars” franchise projects as well as big-budget features like “The Lego Movie.” Still alive and working, the Emmy-nominated performer lent his voice for an episode of “Scooby-Doo And Guess Who?” in 2021.
